Canvas Art Prints

Louise Cunningham

I was born in 1981 in Fife, Scotland. After completing a BA (Honours) Degree and Post-Graduate Diploma in Illustration from Edinburgh College of Art in July 2005, I started my own business. In 2005, I was shortlisted for the Student Illustrator of the Year Award, organised by the Victoria & Albert Museum, and awarded the Wildlife Artist of the Year Award, organised by the S.A.A. (Society of All Artists).

Trading under the title of 'Paper Alligator', I exhibit regularly at art fairs/ galleries in Fife and Lothian as well as online. I have sold several images to greeting card publishers as well as completing editorial commissions for individual clients and most recently, I have been awarded the post of Artist in Residence at a Scottish primary school.

I take my inspiration from the likes of children's book illustrators Eric Carle, Brian Wildsmith and John Burningham, as well as Scottish painter Joan Eardley.
